A prayer for you...

Friend, we serve a God who forgives, heals, restores, redeems, and sets the captives free!  Below is a beautiful prayer I received from the heart of a man who understands the consequences of sexual addiction. Whether you are battling an addiction yourself or you are a wife who's heart has been broken because of your husband's addiction, this is for you.  May this prayer minister to you and bring hope to you no matter where you are at on your journey!

Heavenly Father, we come to You in the name of Your Son Jesus.  We thank You for Your complete work on Calvary that includes salvation of our souls, healing of our bodies and deliverance from every and all sin.

Thank You that by Christ, we have been made right with You and can walk with You daily and live above the sins of the flesh that include pornography and a myriad of sexual addictions.

We thank You that by being delivered and set free, we can then love one another and have fellowship with one another through Your Spirit.

We cry out to You for the hearts and lives of men and women that are still trapped in deep sexual bondage, with unseen chains that cause men and women's lives to waste away and destroy our families.  We thank You that we can cry out to You as You have shown us in

Psalm 107:10-22:

Some sat in darkness, in utter darkness,

prisoners suffering in iron chains,

because they rebelled against God's commands

and despised the plans of the Most High.

So He subjected them to bitter labor;

they stumbled, and there was no one to help.

Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,

and He saved them from their distress.

He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness,

and broke away their chains.

Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love

and His wonderful deeds for mankind,

for He breaks down gates of bronze

and cuts through bars of iron.

Some became fools through their rebellious ways

and suffered affliction because of their iniquities.

They loathed all food

and drew near the gates of death.

Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,

and He saved them from their distress.

He sent out His word and healed them;

He rescued them from the grave.

Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love

and His wonderful deeds for mankind.

Let them sacrifice thank offerings

and tell of His works with songs of joy.

Lord, revive your people that we may praise You! May those who have not been regenerated by Your Holy Spirit cry out to You for salvation.

Lord, forgive us men that have thought that we could have a part of our lives given over to sexual sin and still try to love our spouse and our children, thinking our life is pleasing to You.

Ladies, forgive us for having a cold heart toward you and becoming angry with you.  Forgive us for being insensitive to you and not honoring you as we should.  Forgive us for not loving you as we are commanded to.

I ask You to bring healing for those who have been sexually abused and run to their addiction as a place to hide.  Lord, walk through with them into the painful memories that they may receive forgiveness and healing for themselves and others.  (Anonymous)

And may we all say, Amen!
